The blogosphere is going wild with the news that Boeing invited a bunch of bloggers to try out its “new” onboard wireless Internet access service. See, for example:
Let’s be clear that Boeing’s service is not new: several airlines have been offering this for many months.
You may have noticed that bloggers are keen to promote blogging as a serious new media form. All they’ve done here is demonstrate their willingness to act as a distributed advertising agency, available to major corporations at almost zero cost.

I don’t think any of us announced it as new service. Many bloggers have already blogged about SAS and Lufthansa. Connexion also took a risk. If their system failed, you’d be reading all about that now. Traditional media was there as well. They did show they’re new live TV service, which was spotty. Worked for PCs and not Macs.
